Important Questions From The Trust To The Club [5/1/2012]
Ipswich Town 1st has been trying to provide a voice for Ipswich Town Supporters since the dark days of Administration, we have been somewhat quiet since the Marcus Evans group became involved finding it difficult to establish a dialogue with the Club. Like most supporters we are extremely concerned about the direction events are taking at Portman Road. Performances on the pitch have generally been dreadful and last Monday’s performance was the nadir, but events off the pitch are also very worrying and we have a number of questions that we would like to have addressed. Put Ipswich Town's Academy First [4/1/2012]
We at the Trust have noted the speculation in terms of whether the club should adopt Category One or Two status under the Premier League’s Elite Player Performance Plan (EPPP). Like most football fans, we at the Trust found the attempts of the Premier League to bully the clubs into accepting the EPPP, and while we were saddened that these tactics worked, but we were pleased to hear that Ipswich Town had voted against the Premier League’s proposal. IPSWICH TOWN FOOTBALL CLUB’S PORTMAN ROAD GROUND [13/10/2011]
The last generation has seen a common theme amongst a number of football clubs – a new owner arrives, acquires the ground from the local authority (if they need to), and then looks to sell the land for a significant profit, while either not building an alternative, or being financially assisted by multinational companies to build a replacement on greenbelt land, in an out of town location, in order for the multinational companies to capitalize on the land losing its greenbelt status. Ipswich Town 1st update [11/8/2011]
It has been a quiet year for the Trust this year, as we have faced unforeseen challenges and problems within our setup. The greatest one of these has been – where exactly do we go now? Over the last few years our relationship with the club, and its custodians has slowly diminished. We originally had a great working relationship when David Sheepshanks was the chairman of the club, but this relationship took a hit when the Trust proposed creating a mechanism to include a supporter-elected representative on the board of the club at the club’s 2004 AGM, and challenged the club over the bonuses paid [more..]

Interesting Comments From Simon Clegg re. Town's Finances [15/1/2010]
In a recent interview Simon Clegg, Chief Executive of Ipswich Town, dismissed claims that Ipswich Town could be considered insolvent insisting that the club was financially sound. This is despite the fact that the Club has a considerable amount of debt which continues to rise. [more..]

Ipswich Town announce substantial loss [2/11/2009]
Ipswich Town have announced a significant operating loss for the year ended June 30th 2009 of over £10m reflecting the significant transfer fees paid and substantial wage budget, reputed to be one of the highest in the Championship. This loss together with the cumulative interest on the pre existing debt is likely to have significantly increased the size of the overall debt owing to the Marcus Evans Group to over £40m. [more..]
