I have been in contact with 'Know the Score' publishers based in Studley near Redditch, who have expressed an interest in publishing a book associated with Ipswich Town's 1981 UEFA Cup Final victory in the May of that year. They are the same publishers who produced John Wark's 'Wark On' biography' from earlier this year. The club are interested in being involved too.

Being a devout Town fan who is a part of a family that has a strong supporter heritage with the club for nearly forty years, I truly recognise the significance of the 1980/1981 season and I want to produce a book that is a celebration of that memorable season that will be published in May 2011. 'Know the Score' publishers have contacts with a number of key Town players from the period, but I want to include the memories of fans in the book. To that end, I wondered if you could forward this e-mail or place an advert on your website, to ask for Town fans to contact me regarding their memories and recollections from the memorable 1980-1981 season.

Depending on their wishes, I can talk with them over the phone or via email, or ideally meet with them in Ipswich to share their memories. (Although I am based in the Midlands, I have friends and family based in Ipswich and the surrounding area, and can easily get back to Suffolk at a time of their convenience.)
